Wet Dry Eyes

I have chronic WET DRY EYES. I would like to hear from others with this condition. Any advice on treatment?

  1. i don’t have wet dry eyes but my brother does. He was told told about drops to stop the tears and a surgical procedure that might help. Because of potential side effects and low success rate he opted out. Are you seeing an ophthalmologist or dry eye specialist? Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader

    1. thank you. Yes I have. He suggested something called a three Jones Snip. I am petrified as I lost most of my sight in my left eye and want to protect my right eye at all cost.

    2. I can understand your concern especially since you lost vision in one eye already. Did he mention any non surgical options? I wish you all the best as you make a decision. Sharon Patient leader

  2. Thank you Sharon. Yes I have. He suggested something called a Three Jones Snip. I am petrified as I have lost most of my sight in my left eye due to 4 eye surgeries and want to protect my right eye at all cost.

    1. , As a victim of severe Dry-eyes since the age of 26, I think I can share some remedies which may benefit some. Dry eyes cannot be considered a disease. It is a lifestyle disorder. Continuous use of computers and mobile phones in an air-conditioned room triggers the symptoms. Dry eyes may lead to extensive loss of vision or total blindness.
I tried almost many eye drops that are available on the market but nothing worked except for some side effects.
Some time back I consulted with my doctor through the telehealth Ongo Care and got a prescription and advice, Through my doctor's prescription I tried Blink Gel Tears drop, and finally relieved the severeness to an extent and had no side effects. Now I am better with this drop and carry it wherever I go.

      1. @SillyB kudos for doing the research on a product to make sure it meets your needs and standards of care. Since the recall on eye drops that caused blindness and 3 deaths, I am extra cautious about what goes in my eyes. Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader

    2. I've run the gamut with possible solutions, including, but not limited to Restasis, Xidra, several different OTC drops, nighttime lubricants. I've had plugs, prescription ointments. flushing, and antibiotics. Nothing has eased the discomfort, the "goodies" stuck on my eyelids in the A.M.,the "waterfall"the itchiness etc. When I started using Ivizia (OTC) I thought I finally found something that helps. But that was short-lived. Most recently, I reluctantly underwent a procedure called punctoplasty, which snips to open the tear ducts wider. I was sorry that I did it. NO improvement at all. and it left me swollen and uncomfortable for about 2 wks.

      1. you must feel terribly frustrated over trying so many treatments without success. Too bad the punctoplasty did not work. Are you seeing a dry eye specialist? Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader
