Chronic dry eye treatment

Anybody had IPL treatment for chronic dry eyes

  1. Hi , thank you for reaching out! Many in the community have done intense pulsed light therapy (IPL) for treating chronic dry eye. Everyone's experience is a little different as all bodies are unique. A few of our patient leaders have articles where they share about their experiences with IPL that I thought might be of interest to you:

    1. Thank you for the quick response it all doesn’t sound that promising. Just dying to do my research on IPL as it’s expensive so need to know if it’s worth it. Have an appointment to have my eyes assessed in September

      1. , it is definitely an expensive treatment! You are very wise to spend time before your eye assessment doing some research to decide if you feel the investment will be worth it for you. Let us know how your September appointment goes and what you decide! Wishing you a gentle day. ~Allyson (ChronicDryEye.net team)

    2. I had 4 IPL treatments with expression afterwards for $1400. Did not notice much difference during or after treatment. Not feeling that it’s worth the cost. I have read a lot and learned that MGD needs pulsation along with heat to move the occlusion in the glands out. Tear Care might be my next try for $400 or $700 - we’ll see.

      1. Thanks for sharing your experience, . That's really helpful. I hope TearCare is effective for you if you try it. Sending lots of wishes for relief your way. - Lori (Team Member)
