Eye lash mites

I was told this morning that I have eyelash mites. I thought I had a lash in my eye from scrubbing the lashes last night. This morning it wasn't any better so I saw my eye doctor. He prescribed ivermectin ointment that has to be compounded. My eye still feels awful and I have to wait for the compounding pharmacy, which is in Kansas, to send me the ointment. Has anyone else had this and if so what did you do about it.

  1. I just wanted to acknowledge your post though I don’t have any answers for you. You can use the search function top left and search for eye lash mites. It will pull up any articles where it is mentioned. Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader

    1. Thank you.

      1. Hi! How's it going? Are you feeling better now? Did you get the ointment?

        1. I am sorry to hear that you are facing eyelash mites, as it can be uncomfortable and frustrating. It is important to follow your eye doctor's instructions. If you don't receive your ivermectin ointment, in the meantime, you can try some self-care measures like gentle eyelid hygiene and warm compresses to alleviate discomfort.

My friend also experienced eyelash mites, which resulted in eyelash thinning. She consulted with a doctor from Ongo Care, and in recent days, she has achieved significant improvement. The doctor prescribed an ointment with a natural remedy like coconut oil.

          1. , thank you for sharing and lending your voice to this conversation. Eyelash mites can definitely be uncomfortable! It sounds like your friend had some good recommendations from her doctor for helping to alleviate the symptoms! Have you also dealt with eyelash mites? We appreciate you being part of the community! Wishing you a gentle day. ~Allyson (ChronicDryEye.net team)
