Cornea abrasions

Hello, very helpful group. I do have a problem, that I assume members here have had. Occasionally, I have a small cornea abrasions, from the extreme dryness, especially in winter. Any of your ophthalmologist use anything but a contact lens bandage and antibiotics?

  1. I am glad you find the website helpful. Thankfully I haven’t experienced corneal abrasions. I hope you get answers from those that have experiences with it. Has your ophthalmologist told you ways you might prevent the abrasions? The use of humidifiers is one thing some do to counteract winter time dryness. Best wishes, Sharon Moore team member

    1. I'm sorry to hear you deal with this. It can be so painful and irritating. I have usually just gotten antibiotics (eye drops and ointment) and told to wear an eye patch. Is that what you meant by contact lens bandage or is that something different? -Nina (ChronicDryEye.net Team Member)
