My doctor just prescribed this and my insurance company just approved it so I am waiting for the pharmacy to fill it. Have you tried it and if so, has it helped you

I just started using Miebo a few weeks ago and have seen immediate improvement based on the fact that I now use many fewer Refresh eye drops. For numerous reasons, my insurance company has not yet approved my prescription- but I did get a free one month supply while trying to get insurance straightened out.
When I started running low on the eye drops, my clever husband did some research. The drops are 100% perfluorohexyloctane. Surprisingly, perfluorohexyloctane is sold over the counter (brand name EvoTears) in Europe for about $18 per month (one bottle). Compare that to the U.S price of $750!!! WTF...
Baush & Lomb purchased the rights for perfluorohexyloctane for North America and it was recently approved as a prescription drug by the FDA.
Baush & Lomb advertise Miebo as "The first and only Rx eye drop for dry eye disease that directly targets evaporation". Note that they say "Rx eye drop" and certainly don't mention that it is available over the counter in Europe (also Australia and New Zealand).
$750 per month vs. $18? This is another example of Big Pharma screwing us.
My husband showed me that you could purchase EvoTears online from pharmacies in Europe/UK for about $18 plus shipping. I'm not sure if customs would confiscate it. Luckily, my doctor gave me a prescription. I wonder how much my insurance company will have to pay...
