Is it okay to use Vaseline on eyelids before using final artificial tears of day?

This is my planned schedule:

8AM

Clean eyelids and face with Dove Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar and water.

Put Optase Moist Heat Mask on microwavable plate in 800 watt microwave for 25 seconds and then warm compress closed eyelids for 10 minutes.

Do an eyelid massage with fingers.

Clean eyelids with The Eye Doctor Eyelid Wipes.

Use Hycosan Original artificial tears 3 times a day, at 8AM, 4PM, and 12PM, or whenever needed throughout day.

12PM

Clean eyelids and face with Dove Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar and water.

Moisturise eyelids and face with Vaseline.

Use Hycosan Original artificial tears.

Wait 30 minutes (as instructed by Hycosan Night manual).

Use Hycosan Night eye ointment.

Go to sleep on lying on back using Fresh Face Anti Wrinkle Pillow.

Is it okay to use Vaseline on the eyelids before using Hycosan Original artificial tears, then waiting 30 minutes to use Hycosan Night eye ointment?

I'm using instructions from this 'Do You Have Dry Eyes? | Eye Doctor Recommends This Dry Eye Nighttime Routine' by Eye School with Dr D video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUJwBpUPDNs

And I'm using instructions from this Hycosan Night manual:

However, I also know that whatever you use around your eyes goes into your eyes, and I don't want the Vaseline and Hycosan Original artificial tears mixing harmfully. Should I just use Vaseline on the eyelids and then Hycosan Night eye ointment straight away instead?

What are the schedules of those of you who use artificial tears, eye ointments, and moisturisers?

  1. What I do as I have never been told what to do other than use eye drops, eye gel, and at bedtime time eye ointment. I wash my eyes with plan water in the morning. I also use eye drops for allergies after washing my face and eyes. I use rge gel normal three times a day and the eye drops as needed. I take eye supplements for macular degeneration and dry eyes, and omega 3 fish oil supplements. I also have had tear duct plugs put in my eyes. One plug in each eye. I do get the gritty feeling at night and first thing in the morning, at night if it wakes me up I use eye drops and the washing of my eyes in the morning. I wear a mask while sleeping as it helps to keep the fan from blowing on my eyes as I sleep.

    1. Do you use an eyelid moisturiser, and if so, when do you use it in relation to washing eyes, using artificial tears, and using eye ointment? This is the key question for me.

      1. i don't have a schedule, as I am retired. I wash my eyes with plan water when I get up. I use the ointment just before turning the lights out to go to sleep. I use the allergy drops after I wash my eyes, face. The eye drops and gel is just as needed. I have been retired 11 years and my only schedule is due appointments for health care or Sunday morning church service. If I am going to driving any distance say for trips, I use the gel fifteen minutes before starting out and about every 2 hours I stop stretch and use the gel before drive farther. My eyes get stressed driving so the gel is more refreshing than drops. Massaging the gel into the eyes really helps before continuing to drive.
