Lipiflow

Has anyone had Lipiflow done for MGD? If so can you provide any details of pros or cons.

  1. Hi . I hope you get input from others in the community about their experiences. In the meantime, here is an article from one of our health leaders that might interest you: https://chronicdryeye.net/living/spotlight-diana. Has your doctor recommended Lipiflow? Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. No Dr has mentioned Lipiflow. They mention the machines they have purchased for treatment like Tear Care, IPL, Radiation Frequency, expression.
I have found 1 Op office that has it and may contact them. IPL did not help me, expression alone doesn’t seem to change my 70% obstruction and the different Op’s don’t really keep a client up to speed on if it’s better or not.
I read the literature for 2024 treatment of MGD and it says heat and pulsation is best. My blockage does not allow a warm compress to allow me to push out any lipid at all. I use Serum tears now (3 weeks) so my eyes feel better but the MGD issue is not solved by ANY drops!
I am T1 Diabetic (53yrs now) well controlled 6.2 HbA1c. No Sjogrens or Blepharitiis.
Thanks for your post. Most response is Lipiflow and Tear Care don’t last. Serum tears may work for dryness and itching- they do help eyes be clear and feel better but who and what actually clears the glands. Like Diabetes was- this disease is new due to our life with pollution& tech so many years will go by before someone comes up with something that works.

      1. Hi . It would be great to get some productive relief instead of simply easing the symptoms. As I noted on your other common, I will share this forum on our Facebook page as well. I am interested in seeing the responses, too. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    2. Ok, I’m not on FB so let me know what you discover. Thanks!
