My experience with cataract removal procedure

My experience with cataract removal procedure and having macular degeneration and dry eyes.

Thought you should know that due to my macular degeneration that the Lazer wasn't used to remove my cataracts. I was told when discussing the procedures that they would insure that my macular degeneration wouldn't be an issue.
My vision is incredible. The eye doctor this morning said I have between 4 and 6 weeks before my eyes are fully healed and my vision becomes stable. At this time I am not noticing any issues from astigmatism, and my vision has improved even more today than this morning at the post procedure check. I am seeing better now without glasses than I was with glasses just before my procedures. My right eye was done 2 weeks ago and my left eye was done yesterday afternoon. Some discomfort for the first 24 to 36 hours after the procedure. Definitely need sunglasses for sunny days. I had worn over the glasses sunglasses for years, and now I am finding how comfortable those sunglasses are without wearing glasses under them.
I only received the clear lenses without astigmatism correction, but correct for distance vision. But I am seeing just fine for reading my phone, tablet and Kindle. I can also read a little larger print books, but will need glasses to read prescription labels.

  1. I am so pleased with the fact that I am not noticing dryness of my eyes now that I have had my cataracts removed. My left eye is still very moist like my right eye was the first 10 days after the procedure. My right eye is very comfortable. I am still using the drops given to me for use after surgery twice a day on my right eye. And this week my left eye gets the drops 4 times each day. And another present surprise is that eye grit issues are very minor. I have started doing my pencil art again. I can only do it for a short amount of time. I am also reading without glasses. I didn't get corrective lenses just the clear lenses.

    1. Thanks so much for the update, Chuck! I'm glad that you are doing well. All the best, Lauren (Team member)
