Itching

I am pretty new to dry eye, lubricants were helping, ut now Imhave terrible itching in corners of eyelids & above lids, & redness. Is this common with dry eye, or could be allergy? I have had reaction to glaucoma drops previously, had itching but not redness, irritation. I know I must see dr. but it is weekend & just. curious if this is a dry eye symptom?

  1. there are so many reasons that you could have this itching. It could certainly be allergies - depending on where you live allergies are ramping up for a lot of people right now. I've had itching in the past during eye infections or when I've had a lot of eye inflammation. I wish I could help you out more but only a doctor will be able to tell you why the itching is happening. I hope you get some relief soon! I know that's a very uncomfortable symptom to deal with. -Ava, CDE team

    1. Thanks. I have thought it was preservatives but no better even with compounded expensive prescription drops with no preservatives. I am seeing dr.

      1. It's not uncommon for people to experience dry eyes. Dry eyes are a common issue that can occasionally be difficult for many people. One of the main causes of dry eyes is the excessive daily use of a mobile phone or laptop.
I also suffered from this some time ago. So I consulted with my doctor through the telehealth platform Ongo Care. He prescribed me a Blink Geltears eye drop. I had regularly used it for 2-3 weeks and till now I am good and have not any problem with dry eyes.
So I suggest you go with your doctor and get medication accordingly.

        1. thanks for sharing, lots of great info in here. I'm glad too that you're feeling better symptoms-wise. I know that even though there isn't a cure for dry eye, it's helpful there are tools to combat it. - Reggie, team member
